Peugeot 308 wins Women's World Car of the Year

Five other vehicles were not shortlisted for the award, including five from France.

The Peugeot308 is the winner of the Women’s World Car of the Year 2022 edition. This announcement was made by the female jury of the Women’s World Car of the Year. This year, 56 female journalists covering automotive from 40 countries on 5 continents voted. The winner will be announced on International Women’s Day.

This year’s competition allowed 65 entries. The top six cars in each category were chosen in the first round. The six winners were announced on February 15, and used as the basis for the final vote. The Women’s World Car of the year honor can only be won by one vehicle, the Peugeot 308. Marta Garcia, executive director of WWCOTY said that the final voting was “closer than ever”.

These are the winners of each category:

Urban Model: Peugeot 308

– Kia Sportage, a family SUV

– Large Car: Ford Mustang Mach-E

BMW iX Large SUV

– Audi e-Tron GT Performance Car

– Pure 4X4 & Pick Up: Jeep Wrangler 4xe

The Peugeot 308 is a great car that has everything you need. It drives well, and it’s difficult to believe that there is only a 1.2-liter motor under the bonnet in most models,” says Sandy Myhre from New Zealand. The new 308 is available with a 1.2-liter turbo gasoline, a 1.5 liter diesel and two plug-in hybrid options, depending on which market it is in. The standard powertrains come with a six-speed manual, and an optional eight-speed auto.

Stellantis’ Mulhouse factory produces both a wagon and a hatchback versions of the French model.
