The latest combi steamers allow you to cook under the sun.
This may be the most bizarre cooperation you’ll hear about in this week’s week. Peugeot has partnered up with Whirlpool in order to create a unique food van. The Whirlpool Experience tour will serve as a showcase for the latest products and services of the American multinational home appliance manufacturer. Stellantis says that although they may not look like a match at first glance, there are many things they share in common.
The Whirlpool Experience tour is built around a Peugeot Expert with long-wheelbase trim. It has been redesigned at the back to allow for open cooking. The W6 and W7 combi steamers from Whirlpool are available in the kitchen zone. A solar panel on the roof provides electric power for the refrigerator. All appliances are powered by a small generator.
A matching trailer is attached to the Peugeot in the same color scheme. This is where you will find the refrigerator and other accessories. Whirlpool will display the unique kitchen on wheels at international trade shows and market its products in France to kitchen professionals and wholesalers.
Stellantis explains that Whirlpool and Peugeot share the same DNA, as they have similar brands positionings in their respective industries. The companies say that their mantra is efficiency and performance, but also social responsibility and sustainability. Whirlpool promises fat free combined steam cooking in a similar fashion to Peugeot.
The Whirlpool experience tour will be on the road next April. It will travel through France where it visited 20 cities and held 72 one-hour training sessions. Whirlpool plans to continue building the food vans for demonstrations in Italy and Poland during the second half of 2022.
