Peugeot Expert Sport Edition Has More Kit, But No Extra Punch

A sporty decal and big wheels mark the well-equipped version.

Peugeot has unveiled a high-spec version its Expert van for the U.K. This vehicle offers more kit and sportsier looks than the standard model.

The Sport Edition is a new model that features a variety of visual enhancements to distinguish it from the rest, such as sporty stickers or larger wheels.

The new vehicle sits above the Asphalt model in Expert range and features 17-inch alloy wheels “Black Phoenix” and black-and blue decals down the sides and rear.

The van’s interior features dual-zone automatic air conditioning. Customers also have the option of choosing from three colors: Cumulus Grey or Bianca White. However, they won’t have the option of choosing from a variety of sizes as with Expert models. The Sport Edition comes with only the standard wheelbase.

There are a variety of body styles that you can choose from. Standard guise: The “Panel Van”, which has a 5.3-meter (187 cubic-feet-long) load bay and a maximum weight of 1,458 kg (3,214 lbs). Customers can also choose a “Crew Van” model that uses some of the space to add a third-row, three-seat bench behind their driver and front passenger. However, even with the extra seating, there is still a respectable 3 cubic meters (113 cuft) of cargo space and a 1,308kg (2,883 lbs.) payload.The Panel Van Sport Edition BlueHDi120 1400 and Crew Van Sport Edition BlueHDi 150 1400 will be the first Expert Sport Edition models to hit UK showrooms. Both models have diesel engines. The Crew Van will have 148 horsepower, while the Panel Van has 121.

Both vehicles can be ordered, but the Panel Van is available first. Prices start at PS36.392 (roughly $47.164), including VAT. The Crew Van costs PS41,216 (about $53,415).

The Sport Edition will add two new models to the range next year: the Panel Van Sport Edition BlueHDi 180 1200 and the Crew Van Sport Edition BlueHDi 180 1200. Both models are available for purchase starting at PS40.592 ($52.607) and PS44.096 ($57.148), respectively. They also come with a more powerful 2-liter BlueHDi diesel motor. This unit is a 174-hp motor, which is combined with Peugeot’s EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission.
