Images of the interior show that the production DS5 will feature a premium finish and some distinctive styling cues.
Citroen unveiled the new HTML5 model at the Shanghai motorshow in April. However, this set of photos shows more of the interior.
It’s a luxurious application. We also get to see the wrist-watch/bracelet stitching in the leather seats, which will be a signature mark of this DS5. The DS5 also has a large center console with large knobs. This gives it a premium feel. Citroen is confident that this model will compete with premium brands in terms of styling and interior finish.
Based on the Peugeot 3008/5008 platform, the DS5 was built in Shanghai with PSA Group’s HYbrid4 technology. This technology combines a 163 PS (120 kW), 2.0 liter diesel engine with a 37 PS (27.5 kW), electric motor to power the rear axle. The HYbrid4 technology has been in production since the automaker began to produce models. We can expect it to be included in the DS5’s market launch later this month.
