Pininfarina reveals H500 in China as a Concept for Smooth EV Sedan

Pininfarina kept things simple and clean when designing the form for this high-tech electric sedan.

Pininfarina continues to partner with Hybrid Kinetic Group, based in Hong Kong. The new H500 sedan design was introduced at the Auto China Show in Beijing. This model is a smaller version of the earlier HTML600 concept that was presented at last year’s Geneva Motor Show.

Pininfarina chooses a minimalistic, smooth design for the H500, just like the other concepts. The model has a sloping nose and raised sections for the front fenders. A narrow grille connects to the squinting headlights. The roof curves back towards a shorter tail. The otherwise simple design is enhanced by chrome accents at the sides windows. The four-door’s width is highlighted by the taillights, which wrap around the tail.

Pininfarina emphasizes the H500’s high-tech features inside. A large digital display is provided for the driver. There’s also a second larger one that covers the entire dashboard. A second screen is located on the center console and appears to be used for HVAC duties. The passenger has its own display that’s located in the door panel.

The back seat occupants share a screen. Each of them also has a display in one of the door panels.

Silvio Pietro Anngori, CEO of Pininfarina, stated that the Hybrid Kinetic Group was a solid and crucial partner. We are creating an electric vehicle range together and will be presenting the first Hybrid Kinetic-produced car for international markets.

Hybrid Kinetic Group envisions a H500 production model packing 402 horsepower (300kilowatts) and the ability to sprint up to 62 miles an hour (100 km per hour) in just 4.5 seconds. An extender would allow for a driving distance of over 621 miles (1,001 kilometers).
