You can choose from nine different colors to match your F1 tires.
Pirelli Design has put music in its tires with a brand new Bluetooth speaker. It looks like half of the wheels Formula One teams use when they test aerodynamics in wind tunnels. It is available in nine colors to match the different tire compounds used by F1 teams.
Ixoost, the audio system experts, is handling the production of these speakers. The speaker features a 100-watt digital signal processing, a 3.9-inch (100 millimeters) midwoofer and a 1-inch (25 millimeters) tweeter. Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity allows the speaker to connect wirelessly with a variety audio devices. The device measures 13 inches (330 millimeters in diameter) and 7.9 inches (200 milimeters in depth), so it can be used anywhere. The 2,400-euro ($2,800 current exchange rates) price makes it a significant investment. People in a long-term relationship may have trouble convincing their significant others to show a wheel-shaped Bluetooth speaker instead of a more traditional design.
Ixoost has a long history of building high-end, automotive-themed sound systems. In late 2016, released the Esavox speaker that featured Lamborghini branding, and included parts of the exhaust from the automaker. It included a 15-inch subwoofer and two 6.5-inch full-range speakers. There were also two 1-inch tweeters and two 8-inch woofers. It weighed in at 117 pounds (53 kg) and cost 19,900 euro (the equivalent to $21,234).
Porsche Design has a few more affordable speaker systems that are automotive-themed. The $3500 911 Soundbar is reminiscent of the exhaust from a Porsche 911 GT3. It packs 200 watts. The smaller 911 Speaker costs $599, and looks almost like a pair small tailpipes.
Bentley also offers automotive-inspired home speakers. The Mu-so Qb and Mu-so Qb have boxy designs and 450 watts, 300 watts output. The Mu-so costs 1,195 pounds ($1,575) while the Qb is 750 pounds ($990).
