Pleasure-Way Recon 4×4 Adventure van For Off-Grid Expeditions

A large garage is located in the back, which can be used to store all your gear.

Pleasure-Way now offers a modified Mercedes Benz Sprinter it calls the Recon 4X4 Adventure Van for those who want to go on an adventure into the wilderness. This summer, the rig will be available for purchase starting at $171,000.

The all-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz 2500 Sprinter is the starting point for the Recon 4X4. The vehicle has 11 inches of ground clearance, and there are no water lines, tanks or valves beneath it that could get stuck on obstacles.

The rear area has a fold down murphy bed measuring 70 by 72 inches. There is still 54 cubic yards of cargo space below the roof, even when it is deployed. For maximum storage, cargo nets are placed on the roof walls to secure items.

You can also store your gear in the shower. You could place your wetsuit, ski gear, or boots in the shower to dry. A five-gallon cassette toilet is also available.

Below the rear floor is a 40-gallon water tank. It is protected from freezing by the HVAC system, which circulates air around it.

The walls of Recon are insulated with 3M Thinsulate. The Truma VarioHeat furnace warms occupants in cold temperatures.

There are 400 watts of rooftop-mounted solar panels and a 400 amp-hour battery bank for power. A 2,000-watt Pure sine wave inverter is also available. Two 10-inch touchscreen control panels provide real-time information about the system including power consumption, as well as an estimate of how much time is left given current usage.
