Performance Innovations installed a HEMI V8 engine on a 1999 Plymouth Prowler.
The Prowler was built by Plymouth, a defunct automaker. It ended its short life span in 2002 when it became a Chrysler model. This happened after Plymouth closed down in 2001. Only 11,000 units were produced during this time. The Prowler was initially powered by a V6 3.5-liter motor with 214 horsepower (159 kW), and later a more powerful version producing 253 HP (188 kW). Only four-speed automatic gearboxes connected the engines to power the rear wheels.
Performance Innovations, a North Carolina-based tuner, decided to add more power to a 1999 Prowler. They installed a 6.1-liter HEMI V8 engine with 425 horsepower (317 kW) at 6,200 RPM and 569 Nm (420 Lb-ft) peak torque at 4,800 RPM.
