Polestar Shows 5 Sedans and 4 Coupe SUV for the First Time

Three new models will be launched by the brand in the next two-years

The Polestar brand is growing rapidly and will launch three new products within the next two-years. The company has released a teaser image that shows the tails of the 3 and 5 model, with what appears to be the Polestar 4 underneath.

This teaser shows us the Polestar 4. It is described by the automaker as an “electric SUV coupe” that will launch in 2023. The vehicle’s footprint is very similar to that of the Polestar 3. This offering may have the same underpinnings, but a more sleek design than the X4 and other products.

The Polestar 3 is the brand’s first cross-over. The new model will be available in a two-row configuration with either a single or dual-motor electric motor. Although the vehicle will be built on the same foundations as the third-generation Volvo XC90, it will be more expensive and luxurious. The battery is expected to provide a range of more than 372 miles (600 km). The model will be available in October 2022. Manufacturing will take place in China as well as the United States.

The Polestar 5 is an electric sedan which will arrive in 2024. We will view a prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, June. It will be larger than the existing Polestar2.

The design of the Polestar 5 will be influenced by the 2020 Precept concept. The vehicle’s powertrain information is not yet available. The model will compete with electric four-doors such as the Tesla Model S or Porsche Taycan.

We are poised to play a major role in electrifying large premium SUV segments, such as the lucrative and substantial Polestar 3 and Polestar 4. We will be able to scale quickly and draw new customers to our brand with a production capacity of these two EVs in 2025, which is more than 160,000 per year,” Mike Whittington (Head of Global Sales at Polestar), said in the teaser.

Polestar has also celebrated over 32,000 orders of the 2 sedans since 2022. This is a 290 percent increase over last year. The brand currently operates in 25 markets and plans to expand to 30 more by 2023. In the second half 2022, it will launch in Israel and Italy.
