Best-looking Aztek in history?
Together with the Fiat Multipla, the Pontiac Aztek is a car that’s often cited as an example of a failed attempt at an original automotive design. Its role as Walter White’s rider in Breaking Bad gave it a strange cult following. This following isn’t going away and today, we can see the Aztek returning to the news as a rendering Star.
Thanks to independent designers, we’ve already seen it in many roles. Abimelec Design He joins the party with a completely different idea, an Aztek Trans Am. This is the ultimate flagship version of this quirky crossover.
Before we get into the actual design, let’s express our disbelief at the idea that anyone would invest thousands of dollars to make the Aztek look more aggressive.
We have to admit that this virtual Trans Am treatment makes Aztek look great and could be the most beautiful example of the Aztek in history. It’s too bad that it doesn’t exist in real-life, because the widerbody kit and improved front fascia really make it stand apart.
The Aztek’s bland factory design was supported by its 3.4-liter, naturally aspirated V6 of 185 horsepower (138 kilowatts). This was coupled to a four speed automatic. It’s not exactly an exciting performance, with a 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration of just 11 seconds.
The modern turbocharged engine could match the car’s upgraded look. Chevrolet’s turbo-four 2.7-liter with 310 horsepower (231 kW) and mated to six-speed manual transmission is our choice.
