These digital interpretations attempt to recreate the simplicity and compactness of the original 911. The 901 concept measures only 4300mm in length, which is almost 200mm less than the 991 generation. It also has a length that is nearly the same as the 911 (4290mm). According to the author, the vehicle’s shorter length allows it to have a more “nimble, simple look and pure character that focuses on providing an unadulterated driving experience.”
Ege Arguden, designer of the 911 silhouette, spent “many hours” trying to get it right. He chose an “organic shape” that featured round intakes and headlights. This is reminiscent of the early RSR models. These large openings provide additional cooling for the engine. They also serve a visual purpose as the exhaust headers glow in hot conditions.
The project was created during his time at Pasadena’s Art Center College of Design, which he graduated last fall.
