A modified BMW X3 M Competition can keep up with a new 922 911 Carrera S in a drag racing race. Track Day’s latest video shows how BMW M’s smallest SUV performs against the new Porsche 911 Carrera S.

The 992 Porsche 911 is a stunning modern sportscar with superb driving dynamics and a well-built package. This latest version of the 911 is an improvement on the classic 911. The Carrera S is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-6 motor that produces a strong 443 horsepower and 390 lbft of torque. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.0 seconds when equipped with the PDK dual clutch automatic transmission. The Porsche 911 is not a car that can be driven straight, but it can achieve impressive speeds far beyond its horsepower numbers.

The BMW X3 M Competition is here to challenge the 992 Porsche 911. The BMW X3 M Competition is a performance SUV that features the new S58 inline-6, which will also be used in the new BMW M3. The new S58 inline-6 is extremely tuneable and this X3M Competition has a stage one tune from BM3 which allows the X3M Competition to run E30 gasoline. This particular X3 M Competition can run E30 fuel with a higher ethanol content, which results in 600 horsepower.

What did today’s drag race reveal? The Porsche 911 Carrera S proved that horsepower numbers aren’t everything. It was able to fight off the 600 horsepower X3M Competition. We also learned that the X3 M Competition is capable of surpassing supercar shaming levels by using the right fuel and simple software flash.
