Although it looks strange, it is actually quite effective.
People will do all sorts of crazy things to cars, including massive wings and lowered suspensions. Owners have the opportunity to express themselves through cars – stickers, decals and wraps are only part of the equation. However, some owners go one step further by working directly with the manufacturer to create something truly unique. It doesn’t mean that you must like every one of these creations. However, you should respect the wishes of the owner. This Porsche 911 GT3 is an example.
The polarizing color wheels are immediately noticeable. The owner wanted to expand the possibilities of Porsche customization. This looks almost like blasphemy in Stuttgart, Germany. The company helped the owner realize his dream because it was more than the unique wheels.
The seats are taken from a Porsche 918 and have colored piping that matches the front wheels. The passenger seat has gulf orange pipe while the driver seat matches the acid-green wheel. The steering wheel also has contrast stitching, both in orange and green. These interior details are subtle.
This was not a random decision. Porsche worked seven months with the owner to decide on the colors. Although the design looks chaotic and extreme, the owner spent seven months deciding on the colors. You can see the care. The colors are odd but work well with the gulf-blue exterior. It is somewhere in the weird zone between genius and offensive.
It won’t please everyone. However, that is not the point. The owner wanted to know how far Porsche could go customization-wise while still keeping the warranty intact. This opens up endless possibilities for wild and inventive creations.
