The Nurburgring is home to the next generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Our spy captured the Porsche 911 GT3 RS having a blast on the Nurburgring track, while the car’s seemingly unclad body was displayed.
The concealments on the prototype 911 GT3 RS, just like the sightings high up in the mountains are subtle thanks to the use of black tape. The exact details, like the rear vents for the rear fender, are not visible to the naked eye, but most of the bodywork such as the ducts and vents, and even the huge rear wing, is visible.
The swan-neck wing is expected to be adjusted on the next 911 GT3 RS. It will have low- and high-downforce configurations. Many adjustments are possible in terms of cooling and aerodynamics.
The 911 GT3 RS’s powertrain should be powered by a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-6. The 911 GT3 RS should have a flat-six 4.0-liter engine. Although power figures are not known, it is expected to be similar to the GT3 RS’s output at 520 horsepower (387 kilowatts), with a few more ponies to enhance the coupe’s performance. According to reports, the boxer engine could reach 9,500 rpm and send power to the wheels via a dual clutch gearbox.
According to the latest information, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS’s next generation could be unveiled at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 23. However, this is not confirmed so we won’t be waiting for it.
Another German automaker will be making headlines at Goodwood’s famous hill climb. Along with the M4 CSL, the first BMW M3 Touring and M4 CSL will make their global debut. Porsche could share the spotlight at Goodwood as BMW celebrates its 50th anniversary.
