It’s been just over two years since Porsche introduced its 911 GT3 Touring Package. The car, which boasts the same power but with a more refined exterior, was very popular among buyers who didn’t want to pay the outrageous 911 R prices. It was the GT3 Touring that offered this power, with a six speed manual transmission. This version may offer the same setup for those who prefer it. Recent spy videos of the GT3 on the ‘Ring show that its engine sounds like a high-revving symphony. A spy video of GT3 Touring also exists, which sounds like the driver is manually shifting gears.
Porsche’s original 911 GT3 Touring Package was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2017. We are just weeks away from the 2019 show. Is this a sign that a new GT3 Touring model is on the horizon? It’s unlikely, unless Porsche pulls the covers off both the GT3 Touring and the GT3 standard GT3 simultaneously. Although it is possible, it seems more likely that the GT3 will debut at Frankfurt in this year’s first-ever GT3 launch, with the Touring Package coming to you in 2020.
