The 1985 911 looks almost like it was made in the 1970s.
The Porsche 911 platform is very versatile. It can be used as a track car or a grand tourer. German’s DP Motorsport has created a new project that reflects this adaptability. It took a 1985 Carrera 3.2 Coupe, and made it into a tribute model to the RS and RSR performance cars from the 1970s.
The 911 is powered by a tuned 3.6-liter flat six from the 964-generation 911. It produces 290 horsepower (216 Kilowatts) as well as 239 pound-feet (324 Newton meters) of torque. A KW Clubsport coilover kit, polyurethane mountings on the tie rod ends and axle links make up the upgraded suspension. It is equipped with classic Fuchs 15-inch wheels.
DP Motorsport fitted this car with a new front bumper and fenders, hoods, side skirts, rear bumper and hood. These elements transform the vehicle from a mid-80s 911 to one that looks more like a decade ago. Chrome plating is used on the mirrors, windows frames, handles and other trim pieces to add a touch of shine. Original GT Silver Metallic is the primary color of the body. It comes from the Porsche Carrera GT supercar. The body has two matte black stripes, with smaller bars at the lower areas.
Retro bucket seats are inside, with thick bolsters. DP Motorsport covers them in fabric at the center and synthetic leather on the edges. The Momo steering wheel measures 13.78 inches (350 millimeters) in diameter. There is also electric power steering. The dashboard’s lower section and door panels are made of braided plastic reinforced by fiberglass. It has a similar appearance to woven leather.
It might be difficult to take this 911 out on a cold day, as there is no heat exchanger in the HVAC system. A ceramic fan heater heats the floor. It contains electrical heating wires that can be used to defrog the windshield.
