This 911 can handle all year round driving.
Porsche continues to test an 911 with a more powerful ride that we believe will be called Safari. The brand seems to be developing a version of the iconic model inspired by its success in rallying.
This car was being tested near the Nurburgring. It makes sense that this location is convenient because, even though the 911 Safari offers off-road capability over the standard Carrera, most 911 Safari owners will still drive on paved roads.
Do not worry about your off-road capabilities. The spy shots from earlier shows Porsche building this vehicle in snow so it can handle slippery roads.
According to , the powertrain is carried over from Carrera 4S. It would have 443 horsepower (329 Kilowatts) as well as 390 pound-feet (528 Newton meters) of torque from a twin turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-6 engine.
The 911 Carrera S appears to be the starting point for this development vehicle. Black cladding is visible around the fenders if you pay attention. It appears that the suspension is approximately 2.0 inches (5.08 cm) higher than a standard Carrera. It rides on Pirelli 20-inch tires, which appear to be size 295/40.
Because of its rally-inspired design, the most popular speculation is that the 911 Safari will have an all-wheel drive layout. A rumor has it that Porsche may make this special edition to offer something unique for those looking for a 911 capable of four-season driving. Although the price is unknown, it is more expensive than comparable equipped Carrera S.
Since October 2020, we have been seeing the prototypes of Safari since then. We believe that the debut of this machine is not too far off considering its long development period. This machine will be more robust in 2022, when we expect to finally see it.
