The 911 Carrera’s biggest changes are at the rear, where the Turbo has new fenders and bumpers.
New spy photos give us a great look at the next-gen. Porsche 911 Turbo. The car looks almost like it has no camouflage except for the small panels on each side of its taillights.
The new 911 Turbo’s front looks very similar to the Carrera. The main difference is in the front, where the fascia has larger openings to allow for the gap between the bumper and turn signals.
The rear is where the Turbo and Carrera have the most noticeable visual differences. The Turbo’s fenders are bigger and have more inlets. The active rear wing is more prominent than the Carrera’s that just tips up and down. A major modification is also made to the bumper by adding large outlets.
These photos do not give a good view of the Turbo’s interior. The Carrera has not made any significant changes to the interior of the Turbo’s cabin. Some possible changes include a different trim or thicker bolstered seating.
According to reports, the new 911 Turbo’s powertrain uses an updated version of the 3.8-liter twin turbo flat-sixengine. Rumours claim that the mill produces 600 horsepower (447kilowatts) in the standard model. Turbo S is said to produce around 640 horsepower (477 kW). It would likely include an eight-speed dual clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive.
The new 911 Turbo could make its debut soon, considering that Porsche’s design team used very little camouflage on the test mule and the spy photos of the car from earlier years. September’s Frankfurt Motor Show could be the perfect time to unveil the new 911 Turbo. The Turbo Convertible will also be available, but it is not expected to be revealed until after the hardtop.
