The 992 still has the spirit of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7.
The new 911 TurboS was unveiled by Porsche about a week ago. So why haven’t they removed all camouflage from the prototype? You’ll see that the rear wing has been replaced with a ducktail spoiler, which is mostly covered in camouflage. Only a horizontal strip is visible to allow for the third brake light to be seen.
It could be another Nine Eleven version. It could be a 992 Turbo S with an optional heritage design package or a 992 Turbo S with a limited-run Sport Classic.
Porsche already hinted at a lightweight two-seater 911 Turbo S. We’re also noticing a roll cage in back. Although the prototype was camouflaged on both the front & rear bumpers, it looks almost identical to the ones in the regular Turbo S. Porsche also covered the side vents with black tape but they are very similar to the Zuffenhausen turbo machine.
The new Turbo S will carry the alloy wheels as well as the yellow brake discs, just like the quad exhaust system featuring angular tips. It is worth noting that Porsche will sell the new Turbo S with an additional exhaust system featuring dual oval tips. This will make the 911 lineup more complicated than it already is.
We are curious to see what Porsche is doing and where the new 911 will fit into the huge lineup, whatever that may be.
