TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph features an asphalt-effect face with three sub-dials that allow you to time seconds, minutes and hours.
Porsche, TAG Heuer have teamed up to create watches together. TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph is the first timepiece from this alliance, but they are indicating that there will be more.
Heuer chronograph watches were worn by many old-school racers, but the real boom came in the 1960s. Jo Siffert, a Porsche dealer and driver, arranged a deal with Heuer for Siffert to have the watchmaker’s logo placed on his cars and the team’s racing suits. Siffert was also able to purchase the watches at a discount and sold them to other teams. This popularity was evident when Steve McQueen was filming his movie. Le Man He wore a Heuer Monaco watch and had the Heuer logo on a racing suit.
TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph features the Calbre Heuer 02 movement. It has an 80-hour reserve so that you can use a different watch for several days. The case is 44 millimeters in width. The dial’s face is textured and has an asphalt-effect effect. It evokes the road. The Arabic numerals used on the face are the same as those on the dashboard of Porsche cars.
The chronograph’s three, six and nine o’clock positions have three, six and nine o’clock subdials. They display minutes, seconds and hours, respectively. Below the six o’clock subdial, there’s also an indicator for the date.
The transparent case back on the opposite side allows you to see the movement and the automatic winding mechanism. The center section resembles a Porsche three-spoke steering wheel.
