Porsche Created This Special 911 Turbo S To Honor Mexico’s Greatest Racer

An epic tribute to a racing legend.

Porsche Latin America has teamed up with Porsche Mexico to create a special 911 Turbo S in honor of Pedro Rodriguez, “undoubtedly” the most successful Mexican racer of all time. The German brand offers a unique tribute in the form a Gulf Oil one-of-one Turbo S.

The Porsche 911 Turbo S, a ‘One-of-a-kind’ Pedro Rodriguez sports car was developed in collaboration with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. It was unveiled at the Sportscar Together Day at Centro de Alto Rendimiento Pegaso, Toluca, Mexico. The exterior is finished in the classic Gulf blue with contrasting orange stripes. It also features specially-designed central-locking wheels in high gloss black. The doors are finished with a white circle that houses a black number 2.

Rodriguez won many races with the Porsche 917 KH, which inspired this paint scheme. On the B-pillar of Rodriguez’ sports car, you will find the silhouette of the 917 KH racing car in the Mexican flag colors. It is next to Rodriguez’ signature and name. The carbon moldings at the lower doors replicate this detail, and the names of the eight races Rodriguez won with the 917KH are engraved beneath the spoiler.

The cabin is also upholstered in graphite with orange stitching. On the front seat headrests, the silhouette of the 917KH can be seen once more. The signature of the race driver is visible on the dashboard trim in carbon fiber and the center armrest.

“Pedro Rodriguez is the Latin American driver that has brought Porsche the greatest triumphs and joy,” George Wills (CEO of Porsche Latin America), comments. We are proud to present this car, a tribute to an iconic, irreplaceable driver, a legend of today, and an idol of the past.
