Porsche Explains All 24 Different 911 Models In 5-Minute Video

From the Carrera to GT2 RS.

Porsche is close to introducing the next-generation 911 (992), however, they have also released a video explaining the many derivatives of the 991.2. The virtual book explains the differences between the 24 variants of the Nine Eleven, starting with the entry-level Carrera and ending with the powerful GT2 RS which is the range-topping model.

As you can see, the video only covers the 911’s road-going derivatives. It doesn’t cover race cars like the RSR. The full range of track-only and road models is even larger. The 992 generation will bring more to the family with the introduction of a plug in hybrid version. This will increase the car’s appeal to those who are interested in electrification.

At the Los Angeles Auto Show, the first 992 flavors will be presented to the public. Porsche is yet to reveal the trim levels, but logic suggests that the Carrera and Carrera S coupes are set to travel from Stuttgart to California.

The 911 is Porsche’s most iconic model in terms of brand recognition. However, sales are a completely different story. The SUVs were the company’s most popular models in the first nine months, with the Macan selling in 68,050 units, while the larger Cayenne sold 49,715 units.

Porsche is pleased to announce that the 991.2 is nearing the end of its lifecycle and sales increased by 19 percent between January and September compared to last year.

Porsche’s press release this week reveals that the Panamera saw the largest increase in sales year-over-year, with the number of four-door sports cars increasing by 60%. Panamera customers across Europe love hybrids, with more than 60% opting for an electrified powertrain.
