Honda tuner promises better performance, but provides few details. The package also includes a styling kit.
MUGEN Euro, a U.K.-based subsidiary Honda’s Japanese tuning partner MUGEN is creating a performance variant for the CRZ hybrid. The tuner claims it will offer a Type R-like experience.
The body kit is similar to or identical to a previously announced tuning project in Japan. It includes a front apron and grille with LED daytimers. A roof-mounted wing, side skirt, and a roof-mounted wing.
MUGEN Euro promises a performance boost for their 1.5 liter petrol-run hybrid, but has not revealed details.
According to the tuner, the CRZ MUGEN might even offer better mileage than the CRZ hybrid due to weight-saving measures.
Hiro Toyoda, MUGEN Euro’s press release stated that “We wanted the CR-Z to perform better.” “It’s already a fun car, with an excellent chassis. But we wanted to increase the performance of the CR-Z,” Hiro Toyoda, MUGEN Euro, stated in a press release.
Martin Moll, Head Marketing at Honda (UK), says “This will be a quick hybrid.”
MUGEN Euro claims that the CR-Z MUGEN remains in development and has no plans to produce a version.
