It may also be available at dealers in a matter of weeks.
The 2021 Seltos brings more SUV flavour to Kia’s line-up. Thanks to an anonymous tip from a Motor1.com reader we now have the base prices for all its submodels. The debut of the Seltos compact SUV was in November. Kia had promised that it would cost less than $22,000, and this information is correct. Only if the vehicle’s destination fee is not included.
According to our information, the Seltos LX is priced at $21,990. This is the base model. However, it has all-wheel drive and a small list of standard equipment such as 17-inch alloy wheels and auto cruise control. The same price includes a Seltos S but with front-wheel drive. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 146 horsepower. It is connected to Kia’s Intelligent Variable Transmission, (IVT).
The Kia SX AWD is priced at $27,890. The standard equipment of the top-of-the-line model is not revealed by our information, however, it does include the turbocharged 175-hp engine underneath. You can also get the turbocharged engine in the Seltos S starting at $25,490 The EX AWD is midway in the Seltos range. It has a 2.0-liter engine with a starting price at $25,290.
Our source claims that none of these prices include a $1,120 destination fee. The cheapest Seltos start at $23,110 when you add that in. This is a very reasonable price considering that most of the competition comes in at or below the new Kia in front-wheel drive format. Seltos are close behind all-wheel-drive rivals. Let’s take a look at the numbers. However, these prices do not include destination fees. These charges can vary among automakers. We can then compare apples to apples.
According to our source, the Seltos will be available in U.S. dealerships starting the first week February. This is only a few weeks from the time of this posting.
We have reached out to Kia regarding all of this information and will update as soon as we get an official word.
