A recent report claims that Ram is looking into a production version of the Long Hauler concept Fred Diaz, Ram CEO, spoke with reporters to say that the response from both consumers and dealers has been “absolutely astounding”. The company has now begun to build a business case for its model, in the hopes of getting it into production.
The Long-Hauler concept, which is based on Ram 5500 Chassis Cab, features a Mega Cab passenger compartment and an 8-foot bed. There are also three fuel tanks that can hold 170 gallons (644 Liters) of diesel. The truck has a 7,500 gross combined weight rating (GCWR), a 9,300lb curb weight, and a 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel diesel engine.
