Race-Ready Bentley Continental GT Has Fun in the Snow

For epic snow drifts, more than 600 horsepower

The Bentley Continental GT is a luxury highway cruiser that can travel at a constant 150 miles an hour. You and your passenger will be most comfortable driving it on the German Autobahn. Then, you can pack up your car and start your weekend in your cabin in the Alps. But, I am willing to wager that nobody will ever think, “Maybe I have to drive a Bentley Continental GT in order to drift in the snow.” For fun, we could make it a rally car to enter the Austrian Ice GP. Actually, anyone with a lot of money could do that. We’ll just have to enjoy the Seen through Glass video.

The GP Ice Race is, as you might think, snow, ice and fast cars with a lot of drifting. There are also people taking part in the race. Not just the car drivers, but also people riding skis attached to these cars. This is basically the same GP Ice Race as it has been for almost 50 years. However, the horses are now cars. One of those cars is a Continental GT specially prepared.

This particular Continental GT is dressed in a Pikes Peak-inspired blue and black livery. It has studded tires, a Bentley skirack, and numerous LED light bars behind the grille. The suspension is slightly higher to increase ground clearance. It’s the same under the hood. The factory twin-turbocharged W12 engine, 6.0-liter, still produces 626 horsepower and 664 pounds-feet. The car’s look is completed by an Akrapovic exhaust, which gives it a better sound.

It can go sideways, a lot. The excess tire spinning and bounce off the rev limiter are always fun. You know that you are in safe hands with Junior World Rally Championship driver Catie Munnnings behind you. Are all those performance requirements too high for the snow? But in a positive way.
