Radical, a British sports car manufacturer, has revealed the new entry-level SR1 Model. The SR1 model is aimed at enthusiasts who are interested in participating in trackday and club racing events. It’s a sports car that can compete with supercars up to six figures in price.
This lightweight prototype sports car, inspired by its SR9 LMP2 racecar brother, is powered with the familiar 1.3-liter RPE Suzuki four-cylinder engine, which is also used in other Radical models. At 10,500 rpm, power output is 210 horsepower and 130 ft-lbs. The standard six-speed sequential gearbox is equipped with a Quaife ATB restricted-slip differential. It takes just 3.6 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, 50 to 100 mph in 6.1 seconds, and the top speed is 138 mph.
Other features include 240mm vented brake disks with four-piston calipers and FIA approved safety cells and crash structures, racing specification harnesses, and an integrated fire extinguisher. Optionally, Radical-specific Dunlop slicks, wet, and road tires can be purchased.
Radical co-founder Phil Abbott said, “Over the past decade, the SR range arouses and inspires a new generation racing and track driving enthusiasts. The SR1 extends that engineering research out to a larger audience.” The SR1 is a great car to drive, and it is easy for all drivers. The SR1 is a great car and we are all excited. To see how great the car is, you only need to give it a quick test drive.
With a base price of PS29,850+VAT, nothing beats the Radical SR1 when it comes to the performance-for-pound ratio.
