Trucks
This 25-minute video features is long. We won’t be able to summarize the testing action. Instead, we will focus on the drag race, which begins at 20:30. Click here to see the video. It could be a tossup. The 1500 Rebel, a half-ton vehicle built on the Power Wagon, is lighter than the Power Wagon and has less power thanks to its Hemi engine. Although the Power Wagon was voted the best off-road vehicle by the testing team, its ability to accelerate on pavement is not necessarily a benefit.
The Rebel’s 5.7-liter Hemi engine produces 395 horsepower (295 Kilowatts) as well as 410 pound-feet (556 Newton meters) of torque. The big Power Wagon boasts a 6.4-liter Hemi Hemi V8 that produces 410 hp (306kW) and 429lb-ft (582Nm) of twist. Each truck is four-wheel drive, though the racers used two-wheel-drive. The Rebel also incorporates Ram’s mild-hybrid system, which adds an electric boost for acceleration.
TFL Truck Comparisons
The racing action is held at an elevation of approximately one mile above the sea level near Denver, Colorado. The Rebel could have a slight advantage due to its electric assistance, as both trucks will run a little less power. The Power Wagon is the one that leaps off the line first, even though both trucks are lined up.
Can the Rebel make up for the difference? The trucks race twice and the Power Wagon is faster each time. The action is close, considering the differences in size between them. However, there is one clear winner at the end. The video will show you which truck wins.
