GMC Sierra and Toyota Tundra offer interest-free deals. However, there may be better options.
This weekend marks the official start of summer in the United States. It starts with Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day is on Monday, May 27, and ends with Memorial Day on Monday. This holiday is dedicated to the sacrifices of those who served in the U.S. Military. However, automakers are hoping to make some sales with aggressive incentives for pickup trucks.
Autos Direct has put together a list of trucks that offer deals. Just about every full-size pickup can be subject to at least one. Ford and General Motors offer zero percent financing for the 2019 F-150, 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and 2019 GMC Sierra for 72-months. The Raptor cannot be eligible and GM has detailed information about which Silverado or Sierra models are eligible.
Ram offers interest-free financing for 72 month. However, this is the first time it’s available on the new RAM 1500, not the classic model. Ram has been a success with half-ton pickup sales thanks to aggressive incentives on the outgoing models.
Toyota, Nissan also participate in the Memorial Day sales event. However, the deals are not as lucrative. Full-size Tundra, a truck that rarely receives manufacturer incentives, is eligible for interest-free financing for 60 monthly in most areas of the country. The Titan Nissan has very little to offer, while the Frontier receives zero percent financing for three-years with no down payment and no payments for the first three months.
CarsDirect points out other incentives that may be even more attractive, as tempting as these deals might sound. The report also mentions a $9.015 discount on some Chevy Silverado models, in place of zero percent financing. It would be much cheaper to cancel the interest-free financing during a 72-month loan. Also, the monthly payments projected would be lower. Also, make sure you read all the fine print and do your own calculations. Sometimes, the obvious home run doesn’t always offer the best deal.
