The Ferrari F50 is a rare example of the Prancing Horse’s past. Collectors tend to pay more attention to the F40 and later Enzo models, but the F50 seems like it is getting overlooked. You can now buy one of these semi-forgotten Ferraris in stunning Nero Daytona Black. The seller is asking $5 million for this special model.

Only 55 units of the 349-unit Ferrari production were exported to the United States. Only two of those were Nero Daytonas, which makes this rare. The seller claims that the Ferrari service has been regular and this example shows only 4,801 miles.

These photos show Ferrari’s extensive use carbon fiber in the F50. The lightweight material is used in both the monocoque as well as the body panels. Although the black body and matching cabin may be too dark for some, it will look great at night when lit by city lights.

Formula-One-derived, 4.7-liter naturally-aspirated V12 packs 512 horsepower (382 Kilowatts) at an impressive 8,500 revs. The F50 also has 347 pound-feet (471 Newton-meters). The only gearbox available was a six-speed manual. The vehicle reached speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.87 seconds. It also hit a top speed at 202 mph (325 KPH). Ferrari’s F50 is one of the special models it makes to mark milestones in its existence. The F40 was the first model to be commemorated 40 years of car building. Next came the F50, Enzo and LaFerrari.
