Redesigned 2021 BMW 5 Series Leaks in Two Revealing Photographs

The front end features sharper elements for the grille and headlights.

Bimmer Today has leaked new photos that appear to show the updated BMW 5 Series at the rear and front. The back badge says it’s the BMW 530e. There’s also a charging port on the front fender for plugging in your sedan. The M Sport package adds aggressive styling touches to the vehicle.

The 7 Series’ recent refresh didn’t allow for the design team to increase the size of the grille. The 5 Series is sharper in front. It has more angular edges around the kidneys and the headlights. The lower fascia has been redesigned to look a bit more cluttered.

Minor changes were made to the rear. The bumper has minor tweaks and the taillights have a more defined outline.

According to reports, the 5 Series’ powertrain lineup will include a 545e hybrid plug-in version. If it is similar to the 745e, the model will combine a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine and an electric motor producing a total 388 horsepower (289 megawatts).

Spy shots also show the existence the M5 CS. This would be a sedan with even more performance and possibly more power. It is shown in photos with bronze-colored wheels.

Since July 2019, , we have been seeing spy photos of the updated 5 Series. The new leak suggests that the updated model may be unveiled soon. The unveiling will be done online due to the coronavirus epidemic.
