Refreshed Mitsubishi Mirage, Attrage Break Cover In Thailand

Similar improvements are possible for the U.S. Market.

The Mitsubishi Mirage starts at $13,795, making it one of the most affordable (if not the least expensive) new cars you can purchase in the United States. It is also the most fuel efficient non-hybrid vehicle in the country for the 2019 model-year. The good news is that it will be around for a while – or so we believe after seeing the refreshed Mirage and Attrage (Mirage G4 here in America).

The subcompact model is still easily recognisable, but it has a mature front fascia due to Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield design language. It features a dominant X-shaped radiator grille. The headlights are also new, with updated layouts that include standard projector lenses as well as integrated LED daytime running lamps.

The sedan as well as the appear slightly wider at the back due to the modified L-signature horizontal led lamps that extend across the length of the car. Both have new 15-inch wheels in two-tone, diamond-cut styling for the Mirage and traditional silver finishes for the Attrage.

The cabin features soft materials and a revised front armrest. Higher-end models get a unique seat design. The models also get a new infotainment system that supports both Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto.

At this time, there are no hardware upgrades. The Mirage and Attrage will continue to be powered with a three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated, 1.2-liter gasoline engine that produces 78 horsepower and torque. The only option in the United States is to have this motor with a continuously variable transmission. This allows for an EPA fuel efficiency of 36 mpg in the city, 43 mpg on the highway and 39 mpg in the city.

The Thailand International Motor Expo will host the first public appearance of the newly reformed duo. Mitsubishi promises that sales in other markets will follow.
