2011 will see the release of new all-electric models. Fluence Z.E. The Fluence Z.E. and the Kangoo Van Z.E. Both will be equipped with respective 70 kW- and 44 kW electric motors. Each powertrain has 226 Nm torque and a range 160 km.
Renault has revealed the production versions for the Fluence Z.E. Kangoo Van Z.E. all-electric vehicles.
Fluence Z.E. stands for zero emission, which is a reference to the Z.E. The sedan will be the first C-segment vehicle to feature an all-electric drivetrain. The electric motor is 70 kW (95 PS/94 bhp), and has a maximum torque output of 226 Nm (167lb-ft). The car can run on lithium-ion batteries for 160 km (99 miles) and can be charged with a domestic outlet in as little as 6-8 hours. As of 2012, fast-charging technology (30 min) and a battery swapping capability will be available. Both are dependent on infrastructure issues, which Renault has detailed in the press release.
Fluence Z.E. The Fluence Z.E. will be manufactured at Renault’s OYAK plant, Bursa in Turkey.
The Kangoo Van Z.E. Instead, it comes with a 44kW (60 PS/59 bhp), electric motor that still produces the same 226Nm (167 lbft) torque. The range will be 160 km (99 miles).
