Next year, Megane will be the first to debut.
Renault unveiled a new concept car in October. As its name suggests, the Megane eVision previews the future hatchback in all electric form. We believe that the production version of this prototype will be revealed next year, and now is the best time to present an exclusive rendering.
Our designers took the concept as a starting point for their designs, but they imagined a more rugged vehicle with greater ground clearance. It’s bold and well proportioned. What more can we ask?
There are many more things that can be done. Although the eVision is an electric concept, the Megane will still be available with combustion engines. The front end will need to be modified in order for fresh air to flow into the engine. For a cleaner appearance, the bumper can be closed to allow for more air flow.
Renault also plans a Megane with zero emissions. If the concept is any indication, it will be an electric vehicle. The study features a single electric motor at the front axle that produces 215 horsepower (160 Kilowatts) as well as 221 pound-feet (311 Newton-meters). Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes less than eight seconds.
You should be able travel from London to Newcastle on a single 60-kWh battery pack. This means that the range is approximately 280 miles (451 km), which is the same distance as internal-combustion vehicles with stops.
