In January 2010, the new Renault Samsung SM5 2010 starts to be sold in Korea. It comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine and adaptive xenon headlights.
The fourth-largest South Korean automaker, Renault Samsung, has published the first images of its third-generation SM5 sedan. Although sales will only begin in January through 192 dealers, the company is determined to get ahead of the rest by creating early interest.
Based on the current generation Renault Laguna, the SM5 features a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 6-speed auto transmission. There will be a turbo diesel option.
According to reports, the SM5 took 36 months to develop and cost 400 million won ($340 millions). The car is expected to be well received in both the domestic and international markets.
Additional features include adaptive xenon front lights and massage front seats. It is speculated that it will be cheaper than rival Koreans like Hyundai and Kia.
