According to new information, the wait for the next-generation 2021 Ford F-150 could be longer than anticipated. According to , the Blue Oval has pushed back production starting at the Dearborn truck plant on October 12 and at the Kansas City facility on November 9. The assembly dates were previously September 28 in Dearborn, and October 26 in Kansas City.
Delay in production means that people are not able to place orders for the 2021 F-150 until after July 15. Now, July 15 is the earliest date you can request one. This is in addition to June 15, which was previously reported. Ford still accepts orders for the F-150 up to May 29.
While production is still in flux, we already know many details about the new F-150. The truck’s current design has been updated, with the most significant changes being at the front. Major changes inside are coming, including a rumored 15.5 inch infotainment screen and an expanded range of driver safety assistance systems. The broad range of powertrain options available to buyers, including a hybrid model. Ford may not have all the engines on hand when the truck launches.
Ford is expected to unveil the new F-150 sometime in the summer. However, the exact date is not yet known. If the company truly intends to start taking orders on July 15, then expect the premiere to take place before that date.
