The Defender Sport will continue to be Land Rover’s off-road champion, but it will also have the luxury of being an off-road vehicle for those who are well off.
The luxury automaker can’t wait for the Defender and its successor, Defender Sport. According to the BBC, the company reported a quarter-end loss of PS90million ($114.9m at current exchange rates). It is possible that the timeline for production of Defender Sport may change. The company also announced a PS2.5 billion ($2.8 million) turnaround venture.
The new Defender is still being rumored, and Defender Sport will be available with an optional electric motor. The modified platform that underpins the new SUV is an aluminum-intensive platform.
