According to the company, the coupe could reach speeds of 249 mph.
The Bugatti EB110 was an almost forgotten supercar until recent auctions brought it back into the spotlight. Casil Motors is attempting to revive the SP-110 Edonis Fenice. They have added a new body, upgraded mechanicals and a few of the EB 110’s carbon fiber monocoques. The firm plans to limit production to 15 units.
The SP-110 retains EB 110’s V12 but has 3.8 liters of displacement and two turbos – instead of the original model’s quad-turbo 3.5-liter unit. The power output is now 720 horsepower (537kilowatts) rather than 550 hp (405 kW) with the smaller engine. The engine’s output is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The SP-110 can reach 60 mph (100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds. It also has a top speed of 249 MPH (400 kph). Casil Motors can fit the Michelin Pax flat tires from the veyron.
History has been complicated by the SP-110 Edonis Fenice. Employees of Bugatti formed B Engineering in 1990 to buy 17 remaining EB 110 carbon fibre monocoques. Although the team had hoped to build their own supercar, the Edonis was never built. Casil Motors assumed the project in 2017, 20 years after B Engineering first presented the Edonis.
The design of the new supercar could be very polarizing. The SP-110 has a curvy body, whereas the EB 110’s design is quite angular. The headlights seem to rest high on the front fenders, with prominent vents just behind them. A peculiar touch is the asymmetrical inlet at the front. The rear of the supercar has a huge opening in the bodywork. Although the design may not be to everyone’s liking, it is worth the effort required to create the aluminum panels. It weighs in at 3,086 pounds (1.400 kg).
Casil Motors reports everything is ready for the production of the SP-110 and plans to start building them as soon as possible.
