Sport+ mode is not just a joke, it actually makes a significant improvement.
The G80 Sport features a Sport+ driving mode that provides superior throttle response and faster gear shifts via the eight-speed automatic transmission. Twin-turbo 3.5-liter units produce 375 horsepower and 530 Nm (391lb-ft). This is enough to sprint 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds when the launch control is activated. This isn’t a great result, but it’s still impressive on a wet day and due to the weight and size of this vehicle.
KDM-spec test cars had the Dynamic Package. This adds Sport+ mode and launch control to the car, as well as rear-wheel steering and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. It also has noise-cancellation technology by emitting an inverted soundwave. The G80 Sport can emit artificial engine sounds through its speakers at multiple stages. However, this can be turned off completely.
The Sport+ mode, according to the reviewer, is not just a gimmick. It actually makes the G80 Sport feel faster. Rear-axle steering is a great option as it improves the turning circle and makes the sedan feel more agile during high-speed cornering.
The Dynamic Package is available in the domestic market for $2,600. It can only be purchased with the V6. The G80 Sport can also be purchased with a smaller 2.5-liter gasoline engine and a 2.2 liter diesel. This is not available in the G80 Sport for the US. The Sport is distinguished from the regular G80 by its 20-inch alloy wheels and stiffer suspension. All-wheel drive is standard.
Genesis has not yet announced the G80 Sport for South Korea. However, it is likely that the spicy flavors of the mid-size sedan will soon be available in other markets. The Hyundai luxury brand has finally arrived in Europe. It will be selling the G80 Sport, the Electrified G80 SUV, and the GV80 SUV. The Old Continent will also get the G70 / GV70 with a market-exclusive G70 Shoting Brake.
