Radical Sportscars co-founder Phil Abbott has unveiled a brand new creation. This time, the powerplant is not from Suzuki like the SR8 RSX which was revealed years ago.
The Revolution is a lightweight, two-seater track car designed to bring LMP racing car technology and safety to the masses. It’s engine? It’s a Ford 3.0-liter V6 engine that can generate 300 horsepower. It is coupled to a 3MO 6-speed transmission, which uses WRC technology. The cabin uses Formula 1-style controls.
The Revolution weighs in at 1,488 pounds (675 kg) and is made in Germany by DD-Compound. It uses a carbon infusion process invented by Dominik Derkes. The lightweight of the car makes it cost-effective and simple to maintain. It can run for 6,200 miles (10 000 km) or 100 hours between rebuilds. The car’s handling and performance are something all drivers will enjoy, regardless of whether they’re a novice or professional racer looking to make a career out of the Le Mans.
Abbott stated that “Race car technology and the tools available for designing and developing them have advanced tremendously over the past two decades, and it is now possible to bring this advancement to a larger audience.”
Abbott collaborated with Simon Cox (ex-head of design at General Motors, Infiniti) and Pete Watts (who worked with various companies such as McLaren, Bugatti, Bentley, and BAR F1 1. The Revolution, despite having these names, is expected to be priced below PS100,000. ($130,000).
