The Fixed-head coupe is nearly back to its former glory.
Hammond now has an update on this project. It appears that the vehicle is now ready for the road. This was evident in the video posted atop the page. Neil and Anthony Greenhouse were part of Hammond’s classic car restoration shop in preparation for the new Discovery+ show.
The Jaguar XK150 looks almost identical to the original except for some modifications and omissions made by Hammond. The original Dove Gray color is now on the Jaguar XK150, but the rear and front bumpers have been removed by Hammond to make it more aggressive, sporty and rally-car. Hammond added a bonnet strap, two more leather straps to the back, and the hood louvers.
Hammond’s XK150, which is powered by a straight-six engine, was completely rebuilt. Hammond also upgraded the powertrain with a limited slip differential and improved brakes. He went for a modern transmission, but he indicated that he may return to the Moss for good reasons. Hammon stated that the mechanical portion of the restoration is complete with new shocks and springs as well as bushings. It’s a great project. However, Hammon is still waiting for final touches to be completed in the next three week.
