The Dodge Challenger from Petty’s Garage, a 585 horsepower road-fighter built for “The King”, is now available. More details are here.
The first project car of Petty’s Garage was unveiled by Richard “The King”, a legendary NASCAR driver. This 2009 Dodge Challenger will be on display at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas later this week.
The Petty Challenger was disassembled completely and then put on a rotisserie for the Petty Blue paint job. It comes with an Arrington Engines 585 HP, 426 HEMI. It also includes Brembo Gran Turismo brakes and suspension upgrades, as well as a Corsa exhaust system with a customized center tailpipe. The body has had a front fascia, rocker panels and spoiler changed. The Petty’s Garage brand is used on the seats and interior door panels.
Petty stated that the Challenger is special because it was something he wanted to drive every day. “I wanted the car’s look to be race-car but also practical on the streets, and the guys captured that perfectly.
Petty’s Garage will auction the ’09 Challenger at the Barrett-Jackson auction in January. All proceeds go to the Petty Family Foundation which aids “veterans and children with life-threatening illnesses” according to Petty.
