The competition was a McLaren 720 Spider superbike, a BMW S1000RR superbike and an Ariel Atom4 light sports car. It was a little mismatch. Although we all know the winner, this next roofless drag race will be held on common ground.

The BMW Z4 The newest roadster in town faces stiff competition with the Porsche Boxster GTS or Audi TT-S as the fastest roofless car. Which convertible would you bet on of these three?

Let’s first compare the specs of these roadsters. The 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six engine of the Austrian-made BMW Z4 M40i powers the roadster. It’s also shared with the Toyota Supra A90. The roadster can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in a mere 4.4 seconds. The Z4’s European counterpart is 335 horsepower and 369 pound feet of torque. An eight-speed ZF automatic transmission sends the power to the rear wheels.

However, the Porsche Boxster GTS has a four-pot engine. The turbocharged engine produces 365 horsepower and 317 lbft of torque. It is also available to the rear wheels via a 7 speed dual-clutch auto. From a standstill, it can reach 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.

The Audi TTS streetster uses the 2.0L TFSI engine. It is rated at 306 horsepower and 280 lb ft torque. The main advantage of this car is its ability to run on all fours thanks to the Quattro all wheel-drive system.
