Rolls-Royce Ghost Elegance sparkles with diamond-studded painted accents

Crushed diamonds give the exterior sparkle and allow the owner to boast about their opulence.

The Ghost Elegancepremiering in the Geneva Motor Show elevates the level of extravagant luxury to an even higher level. The Rolls’ Bespoke service offers a very special version of this sedan that uses actual diamond dust to make the car sparkle in the sunlight.

The Ghost Elegance was created by someone who went to Rolls-Royce Bespoke asking for something special. Two months of research led to the creation of a mix by the Rolls-Royce paint shop that contained 1,000 crushed diamonds in a shade the company called Diamond Stardust. The exterior features Mugello red and black pinstripes that run down the sides. The 21-inch wheels have matching crimson accents hand-painted.

It was difficult to figure out how to include the diamonds in the paint and keep the finish soft to the touch. The company decided to add an extra layer of clear coating that would protect precious stones. This extra step required two additional days to apply the extra coat, and one more day for hand-detail.

After ordering the unique diamond-infused exterior paint, the buyer does not compromise on the interior. The chauffeur sits in black leather seats with Mugello red stitching and Tudor Oak wood veneer. Rear passengers are seated in Selby Grey leather with more Mugello Red trimming. Rolls will also bring some older products to Geneva. The Dawn Inspired by Fashion, which features a variety of mugello red, cobalto blue, and Mandarin roof finishes, will also be on display at Geneva. The Wraith Black Badge is also available – see our First Drive to get an idea of how it feels behind the wheel. A Charles Kaisin art installation will be on display at the Geneva Rolls Stand. It will feature 3,000 identical origami pieces, each handcrafted and will fall from the ceiling.
