As a graduation present, Mr. Allen Swift received a 1928 Rolls Royce Piccadilly P1 Roadster from his father. The convertible soft-top was his daily driver for over seven decades. He drove the convertible for more than 170,000 miles (273 588 km) during this time and maintained it accordingly. The RR was fully restored and rebuilt in 1988.
He died in 2005 at the age of 102. However, he gave 1M USD to Lyman & Merrie Wood Museum Springfield History before he died to create an exhibit to show the car’s care. The museum now has the vehicle in its Transportation Collection.
