The production limit will be 35 copies
Rolls-Royce celebrates the 101st birthday of its founders’ “unprecedented” and “legendary to this day” endurance record. Charles Rolls, Claude Johnson and Sir Henry Royce traveled the 14,371 mile (23,127 km) in the original Silver Ghost. This feat was immediately recognized by the media.
To celebrate the record-breaking run, the British luxury marque launched the Silver Ghost Collection. It is based on the 2018, Ghost, and limited to 35 units. Rolls-Royce will create the cars at its Goodwood, West Sussex home.
The 35 cars will all be finished with a bespoke Cassiopeia Silver color, which is a shade that is reminiscent of the original Silver Ghost. Rolls-Royce’s master coachline painter applies the paint in up to eight hours. The paint contains fine silver particles that are 100 percent pure.
The classic Silver Ghost also features a gloss black radiator grille and a fully-polished wheel center with “Silver Ghost Since 1907” lettering, engraved on Cassiopeia Silver backing. The legendary Spirit of Ecstasy emblem is now housed in the grille. It features an “AX201”, special hallmark and the registration plate of Silver Ghost.
Rolls-Royce used a Forest Green leather interior, with a new silver tipped leather that was first seen in a Rolls-Royce vehicle. A unique center console features sunglasses and an accessories case. Small, but elegant tread plates “proudly authentify” each car with the words “Silver Ghost Collection — One of Thirty Five.”
The car’s vintage design doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t equipped with the most recent gadgets from the automaker. This includes three Wi-Fi Kleer headphones and improved USB and HDMI connectivity. It also has a standard 4G LTE antenna and Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service for America, among others.
