The factory of the marque is in full swing.
Nearly all major manufacturers have had problems with new car deliveries over the past 12 months. It seems that some more exclusive and expensive automakers may be immune to industry problems. Rolls Royce joins Bentley in reporting the best-ever sales results in 2021.
The Goodwood-based manufacturer sold 5,586 cars last year around the world, which was the highest annual sales figure in its 117-year-old history. This is a remarkable 49-percent increase on 2020. Rolls proudly announces that Greater China, Americas and Asia-Pacific saw record-breaking numbers.
The automaker said that the Ghost and Cullinan are responsible for the massive growth. However, the Phantom is also doing well, with orders books well into the third quarter 2022. The company’s preowned program saw exceptional results, setting an all-time high with sales last year.
Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Otvos says that this year has been “a truly historic one for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.” “In the last 12 months, we achieved our highest ever annual sales, launched our latest Black Badge addition, shocked the world with our coachbuilding capabilities and made great strides towards our all electric future. It was possible due to the hard work and dedication of the Home of Rolls-Royce team and our global dealer network.
Rolls says that the Goodwood factory of the automaker is operating at near maximum capacity on a two-shift basis. Rolls says that the marque employs almost 2,000 people worldwide, including nearly 2,000 in the UK. In September 2022, the company will welcome 37 new apprentices.
