This is the best we have seen of the electric Rolls to date.
Rolls-Royce is set to be the first luxury legacy automaker to launch a fully-electric vehicle. The Spectre will debut sometime in the second half next year. Our photographers captured a prototype being tested in Sweden while the company worked on the replacement for the Wraith.
We have not seen the electric Rolls before and this photo isn’t much different from the spy photos. British automaker, Rolls-Royce, is still testing the car using a full body camouflage to confirm its name. The vehicle has very few hidden parts, with the exception of the Rolls-Royce grille at its front.
Our friends and colleagues from Kolesa.ru shared exclusive renderings of their electric Spectre with us in an effort to give us a better view. The luxury EV looks a lot like a modernized Wraith. These digital drawings show it from almost all angles. Rolls-Royce does not want you to refer to it that way. The Spectre rides on Architecture of Luxury with the Phantom and Ghost, but the Wraith is based on a BMW arhitecture. Although it is impossible to know what the final design will look like, these renderings indicate that the front end will have a split headlight layout. Although it is not confirmed by spy photos, it looks very plausible. The test prototype from the back looks very much like a refreshed Wraith, but the badge confirms that it is an “electrical test vehicle”. Although the Spectre will not use a BMW platform it has been rumored that it could share its powertrain with the upcoming BMW iX M60 . The 600-horsepower dual-motor system will power the performance electric SUV. This is what we know. This number could be carried over to the Spectre and give the zero emission coupe from Westhampnett a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of about 4.0 seconds. It would make it one the fastest Rolls models.
