What horsepower can a Phase 2 kit generate?
Roush and Ford have a long history, stretching back more than 25 years. The two-door American muscle car’s two-door is famous for its insane horsepower. Every few months Roush releases a new Mustang performance kit or package with the express goal of generating more power. According to Roush, the company’s most recent supercharger kit will increase Mustang GT’s V8’s power output to 700 horsepower. The Dodge Challenger Hellcat needs to be on its guard.
Roush Performance Phase 1 Supercharger Kit provides all this power through a 2.65-liter supercharger. It also includes a calibration specially designed to work with the V8’s power and direct-fuel injection system. This system generates 700 horsepower and 610 pound-feet at 12 psi on 93-octane gasoline. That’s quite a difference from the original 460-hp output of the 5.0-liter.
Superchargers are not available only for Mustangs. The supercharger can be added to Ford F-150 pickup trucks that have the 5.0-liter engines. Although the horsepower isn’t as high, it still produces 640 hp, 600 lbft of torque, which are both impressive numbers for a pickup truck. This isn’t the exact same set of parts as the Phase 1 Mustang kit.
Jack Roush, Chairman of Roush Enterprises, stated that it took more than a year to bring the Roush Performance supercharger kit on the market. This involved feasibility studies, CAD, CAE and design and development. The combination of the 2018 5.0-liter motor and our fully integrated Phase 1 Supercharger system in 2018 yields incredible performance.
The Phase 1 kit comes with a 3-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty if installed by an authorized dealer. Roush tested the system through 17 million cycles of wide-open throttle.
All 2018 Ford Mustang GT coupes and convertibles can use the 2018 Roush Performance Phase 1-Supercharger with manual or automatic transmissions. The Phase1 kit is priced at $7,699.99 and includes free shipping.
