Tuner develops artificial whale skin vinyl as an interior finish to replace the real thing. To make the message more clear, the finish will include a logo for “Save the Whales”.
Russian tuner Dartz made quite a stir last November when they revealed that they would finish the interior of the Dartz Prombron Monaco Red Diamond Edition SUV’s interior with whale penis leather. It’s leather made from the hide of a whale penis.
The company was forced to scrap its plans after Greenpeace and Pamela Anderson, an animal-rights activist, stopped them from pursuing their plans. They have now come up with an artificial replacement.
Dartz has returned with a Porsche 911 fitted in whale skin vinyl, an artificial material that replicates the feel and feel of whale skin. To ensure that the interior conveys the right message, the new vinyl finish will include a logo titled “Save the Whales”.
Customers can order the vinyl finish for whale skin through Dartz’s French branch Dartz France at www.dartz.fr
Dartz promises that the revised, whale skin-free Prombron Monaco Red Diamond Edition (also new) will be unveiled at the Top Marques Monaco 2010 event next month (April 15-18).
